Points
  • Casablanca has gone back to its roots for Fall/Winter 2022, celebrating the city of Paris with its new collection.
  • The collection is titled "Le Monde Diplomatique,' and pays tribute to the French capital -- which is also the birthplace of creative director Charaf Tajer -- through references to everything from luxury hotels and the golden age of travel to caf' chairs and the furniture of Pierre Jeanneret.
  • A stand out theme throughout the collection is the references to air travel, and particularly aviation prints in the French tricolor which adorn silk pieces, satin quilted outerwear and more.
  • The travel theme continues with the use of pearl, crystal, sequin and beading that nods to the night sky seen from an airplane window.
  • Elsewhere, blue and gold accents are a tribute to luxury Parisian hotels, while the wicker work of Jeanneret is recalled through wide-brimmed hats and accessories, along with an interwoven take on Casablanca's signature monogram.
