Costa coffee at Starbucks in Hong Kong goes up as bean prices rise, other chains warn some speciality drinks could hit HK$100 a cup

  • Hong Kong’s major coffee chains say they are not raising prices yet despite an increase in the cost of coffee beans worldwide.
  • Pacific Coffee, The Coffee Academics and NOC told the Post they have not passed higher costs on to consumers, although Starbucks – the city’s largest coffee chain – has raised prices by about 5 per cent.
  • The higher cost of beans is partly down to the coronavirus pandemic wreaking havoc on global supply chains and shipping, which has also resulted in higher imported food….
