  • Jonas Wood has unveiled a suite of new work at Gagosian's Hong Kong outpost.
  • Known for creating intimate compositions that explore his fascination with sports, home interiors and landscapes, the Los Angeles-based artist was inspired for this new exhibition after re-encountering Polka Dot Orchid (2015), a painting he made which went on view at the Dallas Museum of Art in 2019.
  • This self-titled exhibition is Wood's first in Hong Kong and focuses specifically on motifs of fruits, flowers, and houseplants.
  • By isolating these plants on a monochromatic background, Wood curiously explores color theory, geometry, line and pattern.
  • The latter of which was overlaid as a wallpaper throughout the gallery.
